People eagerly waited to watch the Air National Guard fly over the Blue Water Bridge on Tuesday morning. Unfortunately, fog prevented them from seeing it.

The Air National Guard conducted a flyover to nine Michigan communities on Tuesday as part of the United States Air Force's celebration of 100 years of aerial refueling. The planes were supposed to be seen flying over the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron at approximately 10:20 a.m. People said they thought they heard the planes pass over but could not see them.

People waiting said they were looking forward to seeing the display despite the foggy weather.

Steven and Connie Jones were watching by Freighters Eatery. Steven Jones served in the Michigan Air National Guard. In 2011, he did maintenance on a KC-135 Stratotanker, which is the type of plane that flew over. He went out because it was a plane he was familiar with, and he wanted to see it in flight.

The crowd held out until about10:45 a.m., when people began to guess the planes had started to pass over Alpena. According to the flight schedule, the planes were due in Alpena at 10:40 a.m.
