Fog delays schools on Delmarva

Several school systems across the region have announced delays Monday morning due to fog.

Patchy dense Patchy dense fog over portions of the Lower Maryland and Virginia Eastern Shore has reduced visibility from one quarter mile to one mile in many areas.

Fog is expected to lift by around 7 a.m., according to National Weather Service.

Motorists should be alert for sudden changes in visibility due to the areas of dense fog.

The following schools will open up to two hours late:

Wicomico County Public Schools - 90 minutes

Somerset County Public Schools

Worcester County Public Schools

Delmar School District

Indian River School District

Cape Henlopen School District

Laurel School District

Seaford School District

Sussex Tech School District
