Fond du Lac businesses ring in the holiday season with festive specials | Streetwise

FOND DU LAC – Need a cup of cheer, or a meal with activities for the family?

These Fond du Lac restaurants, cafes and other businesses offer festive flavors or holiday outings that include breakfast, lunch or dinner throughout December.

Breakfast with Santa at the Retlaw

The Hotel Retlaw, 1 N. Main St., invites families to its Breakfast with Santa from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 17.

Breakfast includes a pancake and waffle station, double-smoked bacon and sausage, hash browns, cheesy scrambled eggs and fresh sliced fruit.

In addition to the meal, there will also be cookie and ornament decorating, a coloring station and picture opportunities with Santa.

The cost is $16 for adults, $8 for children age 4 to 12 and free for children age 3 and under. Reservations are required by calling 920-204-0400 and specifying the number of adults and children.

Faris Popcorn holiday flavors and Winter Treatsland

Faris Gourmet Popcorn, 770 W. Scott St., is offering festive popcorn flavors and mixes alongside its variety gourmet popcorn options and gift packs.

Flavors include candy cane, the red and green holiday mix, elf sprinkles, Egg Noggin' and sugar cookie. The Rosemerry Zest is a sweet and savory flavor with rosemary and orange, and the SA Red Kettle Corn is a dark cherry kettle corn — proceeds from this mix will benefit the Salvation Army of Fond du Lac Red Kettle Campaign.

Winter Treatsland kicks off at 9 a.m. Dec. 17 at the store with food from Smokehound BBQ, activities in Santa's Workshop and music by Fond du Lac High School's Cardinal Singers.

Kelley Country Creamery

Kelley Country Creamery, W5215 County B, includes a chocolate peppermint sandwich cookie among the specials its last month open this season.

Featured sundaes this season include chocolate covered cherry, Grandma's Special Eggnog and peppermint cookie dough. The O'Christmas Tree is chocolate Andes ice cream topped with hot fudge, brownies and creme de mint, and the Celtic Christmas is Kelley's Irish Cream ice cream topped with caramel and chocolate flakes.

Ice cream cupcakes are new this year, available in six-packs for $36. The included ice cream flavors are gingerbread, candy cane, hot chocolate, vanilla, sugar cookie and Santa's Snack — a blend of several different cookie pieces and M&Ms. Call 920-923-1715 to order.

The store also has gift boxes available until Dec. 23 or while supplies last, including sundae kits and pint sampler bundles.

Hometown Nutrition

Hometown Nutrition, 293 W. Scott St., announced its December menu of shakes and energizing lit tea flavors, with hot drinks to follow Thursday.

Lit teas, which Hometown Nutrition's Facebook posts describe as "a healthy energy boost ... with zero sugar," include: Elf'n Around, with green apple, pineapple and aloe; Jingle Berry, with strawberry, raspberry and blue raspberry; and Holiday Cheer, with strawberry, watermelon, lime and aloe.

Shake flavors include Christmas cookie, Reindeer Chow, red velvet Oreo and cookie dough mash.

American Legion veteran dinner

The 5th annual Christmas Day veteran dinner invites veterans and their families to the American Legion Foxhole Bar, 500 Fond du Lac Ave., starting at 2 p.m. Christmas Day.

The week leading up to Christmas, American Legion will host basket raffles to raise money for its veteran programs.

Check out the drink specials at these local cafes

The December coffee specials at CC's Chocolates, 57 N. Macy St., are a peppermint bark latte and a gingerbread latte. The shop will also have rotating specials in its dessert case.

Beans & Bites, 340 Prospect Ave. in North Fond du Lac, offers a Scotcheroo latte, gingerbread cream cold brew, spicy hot chocolate and peppermint mocha or cocoa in its winter drink specials.

Stone Oak Coffee Haus, 347 Winnebago Drive, has season-long flavors including eggnog lattes, caramel apple ciders, gingerbread lattes and peppermint mochas, as well as rotating weekly specials, such as Santa's Morning Latte, flavored with maple pancake and cookie butter syrups.

The business's newly extended hours are 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays.
