Fond du Lac’s can’t-miss events include Celebrate Waupun, Breakfast on the Farm, Braelon Allen softball game

FOND DU LAC - Whether you'd rather take in a charity softball game outdoors or stay inside for a SpongeBob musical, Fond du Lac has what you're looking for.

Here are five can't-miss events happening in the community this week.

1. Celebrate Waupun has music, food and fun all weekend

Celebrate Waupun returns June 23 to 25 to Tanner Park for its 11th year. Organized by Waupun Festivals Inc., this is a free family-friendly festival.

Event-goers can enjoy carnival rides, food, refreshments, music and more.

The festival opens at 4 p.m. June 23 with a fish fry serving until 8 p.m., firefighters water-barrel fights, and the music of Boogie and the Yo Yo’z.

June 24 events include a bags tournament, mobile art, a trolley ride and more. Music will be provided by The Glam Band.

On June 25, there will be a car show, and family events such as bingo, a pedal pull and more. Eagles tribute band, Take it Easy will play at 7 p.m. The festival concludes with fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

2. 3-D Dairy hosts Breakfast on the Farm

The 34th annual Breakfast on the Farm is set for 8 a.m. to noon June 25 at 3-D Dairy, N8148 Schaefer Road, Malone. The location has changed as a result of a recent fire at Forest Ridge Holsteins. The event is hosted by Envision Greater Fond du Lac’s Agri-Business Council.

Tickets are $10 for ages 13 and older, $8 for ages 6 to 12, and children 5 and younger are free. Purchase tickets online at envisiongreaterfdl.com or at Envision Greater Fond du Lac, 23 S. Main St., Suite 101; Dotyville Hardware, W2118 Fourth St., Fond du Lac; and many local banks.

Breakfast includes eggs with ham and cheese, pork sausage, pancakes, applesauce, coffee, and milk. Ice cream cups will be available for $2 a cup.

The event also includes live music by Gary Cross, cheese tasting, kiddie tractor pull, a petting zoo and more.

Free parking and shuttle service will be available from Aurora Health Center, 210 Wisconsin American Drive, Fond du Lac. Handicap and event parking available at the farm.

3. Community theater group to present 'SpongeBob Musical'

Fond du Lac Community Theatre will present “The SpongeBob Musical” June 22 to 25 at Fond du Lac High School Performing Arts Center, 801 Campus Drive.

The musical is based on the animated series and features music from Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Cyndi Lauper, Panic! At the Disco, David Bowie and more.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. June 22, 23 and 24; and 2 p.m. June 25. Ticket prices vary, but start at $12; prices at the door are $3 more. Purchase advanced tickets at hometowntickets.com/fdlct.

4. Charity softball game to benefit local nonprofit groups

Wisconsin Badgers running back and Fond du Lac native Braelon Allen will host a charity softball game at 1:05 p.m. June 24 at Herr-Baker Field, 980 E. Division St., Fond du Lac.

Allen will be joined on the field by current Wisconsin athletes, local personalities and Wisconsin legends across multiple sports. Proceeds from the game will benefit The Braelon Allen Fund, the Fond du Lac Boys & Girls Club, the Fond du Lac YMCA, and the Fond du Lac Junior Football League.

There also will be a youth football camp at 1:05 p.m. June 23. Kids ages 9 to 17 with a ticket to the softball game will be admitted to the camp free.

5. Annual Pride Picnic set at Fond du Lac's Lakeside Park

Pride Picnic, Fond du Lac's main pride month event, will kick off at noon June 25 in Lakeside Park.

The fifth annual Pride Picnic Fond du Lac event is scheduled for noon to 8 p.m. June 25 at Lakeside Park Pavilion, 555 N. Park Ave.

The free event offers live music, food, community resources and vendors.
