Food bank will give away cleaning supplies in Lake Wales

LAKE WALES — Freedom Tour Food Bank will be giving away free cleaning supplies Wednesday at Caver Funeral Home.

Funeral Director Linda Thompson said the group will be giving out sanitation and cleaning supplies from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home at 90 W. Orange Ave. in Lake Wales.

This is the sixth month the funeral home has hosted the Freedom Tour giveaway, which is being held on different dates each month. Thompson said the group has enough supplies at the giveaway for 300 to 400 people.

The Freedom Tour is a disaster relief ministry founded by Bobby Williams, who is also the pastor of Freedom Church. He said the organization helps communities affected by natural disasters around the country.

Outside of partnering with Caver Funeral Home, Williams said the Freedom Tour also partners with the Midwest Food Bank in Fort Myers and One More Child. He said the food bank does two to 10 food drives across Polk County cities each week, feeding 3,000 to 5,000.
