A metro Detroit native, Stawiasz followed her passion for cooking and grilling during the pandemic. Stawiasz's website is Thyme and Timber and she's also on Instagram where she shares recipes, tips and tricks related to preparing camping and grilling meals. According to her website, Stawiaz is a nature lover and outdoor person who spends time hiking and exploring in her 2020 Coachmen Catalina Expedition. She shares her passion for cooking through recipes geared toward the outdoors prepared over a campfire, travel grill, or RV stovetop.

The Steak Shop is also coming up on its one-year anniversary. Around this time last year, the third generation of the family-owned Fairway Packing Co. at Eastern Market opened the Grosse Pointe Woods store selling a huge variety of their products.

The driving force behind opening the 1,300-square-foot brick-and-mortar store on Mack Avenue stemmed from the pandemic.

Restaurants are a core part of the Fairway Packing business. When restaurants shuttered in mid-March 2020 because of the pandemic as well as stay-at-home orders that followed, they began receiving calls from local butcher shops and grocery stores looking for products.

Proprietor Emmet Baratta, along with his cousins Gino, Joey and Peter, came up with the idea to pivot to retail, selling directly to customers. During that time, they shifted their focus to retail and stepped up their online presence by selling products directly to consumers.

Now, they still continue their long-standing Eastern Market operations supplying beef and other products to local restaurants as well as the Grosse Pointe Woods retail store.

Its Grosse Pointe Woods store motto is "Inspired by chefs, built by butchers."

The neighborhood steak shop sells several grades of packaged steaks, chops, lamb, sausages, hot dogs and more of what Fairway Packing, a third-generation family-owned Eastern Market meat distributor, specializes in.

It also sells cooking tools and other items and offers steak and wine pairing events for the public and for private events.

Highlights of the Steak Shop include Fairway Packing custom burger blends and dry-aged steaks from their Eastern Market aging room. The Steak Shop by Fairway Packing is at 20877 Mack Ave. in Grosse Pointe Woods.
