It is time to put away the Christmas decorations and say farewell to 2022. Put on your glitz and glam, pop the champagne and say hello to the new year.

If you're looking for something that will allow you to dance the night away or something more slow paced, the bars, breweries and restaurants of Spartanburg and beyond have you covered with events to celebrate the new year.

Ciclops Cyderi & Brewery: Back to the 90's

Celebrate the new year by partying as a blast from the past at Ciclops Cyderi & Brewery. Ciclops' New Years event will host an evening of fun, with karaoke, games and prizes and a champagne toast at midnight. Come dressed in your best 90's outfit to celebrate 2023.

"Every hour on the hour we have a new release regarding new beer, guests beer or merch. We have games through out the night and it's going to be a fun night and get together," Holden McGinnis, manager of Ciclops said. "We are ready to have a blast and something we look forward to it every year."

The event will be held Saturday, December 31 at 7 p.m. until 2 a.m., located at Ciclops Cyderi & Brewery on 197 E St John St., Spartanburg.

New Year's at Prime Restaurant & Whiskey Lounge

Prime Restaurant & Whiskey Lounge (464 E. Main St., Suite 9) in Spartanburg will be open for New Year's Eve dinner by reservation only from 5-10 p.m.

Their lounge will be open from 3 p.m.-1 a.m., and there will be live music from guitarist David Parker from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. Free champagne will be passed out at midnight to toast the new year.

Delaney's Irish Pub (117 W. Main St.) in downtown Spartanburg will be hosting its annual New Year's Eve party with live music from The Drew Story Experience from 9:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m.

The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m.-2 a.m. on New Year's Eve and will be offering drink specials throughout the night and a champagne toast at midnight.

New Year's at New Groove

New Groove Artisan Brewery is ringing in the new year with their annual New Year's party. Get ready to groove at New Groove with live music by J. Stephens and The Stubborn Hearts, a specialized New Year's Eve menu and champagne toast.

Tickets are available to purchase in advance and at the door, and include event entrance and a commemorative glass. The event is from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m., at New Groove located at 4078 SC-9, Boiling Springs.

"This is our sixth year doing it, and it's going to be a great evening so people should get their tickets," Jen Barton, Events Coordinator at New Groove said. "We are gonna have live music and a special menu from our smokehouse kitchen. It's the most fun you can have on New Years Eve in Boiling Springs."

Plankowner Brewing Co. (109 Sloane Garden Rd.) on the other side of Boiling Springs is throwing its traditional Brew Year's Eve Party from 7 p.m. to midnight . Echo Operative will be playing from 8 p.m. into the new year.

Tickets are available to purchase in advance for $50 on Eventbrite, and include access to the entertainment, dinner buffet from Dray Cafe, three drink tickets good for any beer, wine or cider, and a midnight champagne toast.

The Spinning Jenny: Medieval Mayhem

Celebrate the new year but in a different era at the Spinning Jenny's renaissance festival. Put on your most fantastical costume and dance the night away with fire breathing acts, belly dancers, ax throwing and more. Costumes are highly encouraged, and the event will feature a costume contest.

Tickets are available to purchase for $25 in advance, and $35 the day of the event. The event will be held Dec. 31, from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m., located at The Spinning Jenny on 107 Cannon St., Greer.

The Mason Jar: NYE Cocktails and Karaoke

The Mason Jar (202 Trade St.) in Greer will be hosting a NYE Cocktails and Karaoke party from 8 p.m.-12:30 a.m. The party will feature karaoke, of course, a festive cocktail, and a champagne toast at midnight.

The downtown Greer staple's new owners Heather Buesing and Eddie Marini are looking forward to ringing in the new year with their customers for the first time.

"It's exciting," Buesing said. "We've had the bar for seven or eight months now, and it's getting busier each week."

Tickets are available at the door for $10 or $30 for dinner in addition to the cocktail and champagne.

Rotties 221 Biergarten: New Year's Eve Countdown

Rotties 221 Biergarten (228 S. Main St.) in Woodruff is hosting its annual New Year's Eve Countdown from 7 p.m.-1 a.m. Greenville singer-songwriter David Locke will be performing during the party, and a buffet dinner with baked Italian chicken, honey glazed ham, mashed potatoes, and chocolate trifle will be served.

Tickets are available in advance for $28 on Eventbrite and include party favors, dinner and a midnight champagne toast.
