A new food hall opens in Kansas City luxury hotel on the Plaza. Here’s what you can eat
Cascade Kansas City is not quite open — the luxury hotel on the Country Club Plaza is expected to begin booking rooms later this week — but the food hall inside held its grand opening Monday.
Strang Chef Collective, at 4620 Wornall Road, features indoor-outdoor seating, four food concepts, two bars and a coffee shop on two stories inside the hotel.
It is the third Strange Chef Collective to open in the metro, joining locations in downtown Overland Park and at the Lightwell building in downtown Kansas City.
“We prioritize chefs and provide them with an accelerated platform to shine and focus on the food while removing the headaches of administrative tasks like payroll and staffing,” said Shawn Craft, CEO of Strang Chef Collective.
The four food concepts are:
Khai-noy
Style: Asian fusion with emphasis on Thai and Laotian cuisines
Dishes: Spring rolls, red curry noodles, banh mi
Chef: Chis Jones
Verde
Style: Latin American
Dishes: Cuban arroz bowl, chimichurri steak tacos, fried yuca
Chef: Nicole Shute
Parma
Style: Italian
Dishes: Arancini, pasta (rigatoni, tagliatelle, spaghetti), shrimp & polenta, panzanella salad
Chef: Derek Losson
Gasthaus

The coffee shop, Strang Cafe, will operate near the hotel lobby once Cascade opens.
