Will Food Lion be open? What about Target? What’s open in Charlotte on July 4th
The Fourth of July holiday is coming up and there are several businesses and local services that will either be closed or unavailable.
While many local offices and stores will not be open on Independence Day, there are some that will still be open with varying hours.
Here’s a list of what will be open and closed in the Charlotte area on July 4:
Charlotte Area Transit System
The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) call center, lost and found, pass sales and information offices will be closed Tuesday. Normal operating hours will resume on Wednesday. All CATS bus routes, LYNX Blue Line and CityLYNX Gold Line, will operate on a Sunday schedule on the Fourth of July and switch back to normal operating schedule on Wednesday.
Grocery and retail stores
Some businesses and stores will be closed on the Fourth of July, but several will be open for the holiday. RetailMeNot rounded up a list of chains that you can still shop at on Tuesday:

Northlake Mall: Open Monday 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
SouthPark Mall: Open Monday 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Mail services
In observance of the holiday, United States Postal Service offices will be closed on Independence Day.
Mecklenburg County services
According to the Mecklenburg County website, offices and services will be closed on Independence Day, including all units of the Department of Social Services, Public Health, Tax Office, Elections Office, Register of Deeds Office, Land Use and Environmental Services Agency Offices and Mecklenburg County Solid Waste Centers.
All recreation and senior centers, indoor aquatic facilities and nature centers will be closed but parks, seasonal pools and spraygrounds will be open.
