CANANDAIGUA, NY — An old friend is coming back virtually to New York Kitchen later this month, and once again, she will help you make your fall kitchen table spread even more appealing. Not only that, two more familiar names in their fields also will be visiting.

Nancy Fuller, who is co-owner of Ginsberg’s Foods, the host of Food Network series “Farmhouse Rules” and cookbook author, will be giving a virtual cooking class live via Zoom from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21.

Fuller, along with a chef instructor from New York Kitchen, will help prepare a menu that includes spicy chicken and chips, chili in a mug, and F.R.O.G. jam flatbreads (as in figs, raspberries, oranges and ginger, not Kermit and his family tree).

Fuller, who also is a judge on both the Holiday Baking Championship and Spring Baking Championship series, uses food and recipes that represent her surroundings on her downstate farm and her philosophy of feeding others with delicious, simple meals. Last time she came in 2019, she shared her thoughts — and recipes — on the simple, seasonal foods you all know and love.

There will an opportunity at the end of the virtual cooking class to learn more about what she is up to and how to participate in some of her creative efforts.

A shopping and equipment list will be emailed to participants a few days prior to the class, allowing everyone to plan and prep accordingly. If you have not received this information 48 hours beforehand, please call the front desk team at 585-394-7070 or email info.desk@nykitchen.com.

That’s not all of the big-name visitors, by the way, as this weekend is looking pretty big if you like wine and desserts – and who doesn’t?

Sommelier Cha McCoy will join NYK for a wine-tasting dinner, 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13.

McCoy has been recognized by Wine Enthusiast as one of the Top 40 Under 40 Tastemakers, and Wine & Spirits Magazine’s Rising Black Voices in Wine. She champions change for the beverage community daily, as Charleston Wine + Food Festival's beverage director, Cherry Bombe Magazine's beverage director and editor, and brand ambassador for the New York Wine & Grape Foundation.

The next day, Heather Saffer, a winner of Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars” and ABC’s “Shark Tank” and founder of Dollop Gourmet, will host a fun class from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14.

Saffer got her start as the founder of the nation’s first create-your-own cupcake bakery in Penfield.
