Oktoberfest is being celebrated in a big way in both New Bedford and Middleboro this month. There will be traditional German grub to try and imported beer to taste test all month long and make sure to enjoy your brews for a worthwhile cause when you head to Oktoberfest on the Pier.

Oktoberfest is happening this weekend

Celebrate the start of autumn at this year’s Oktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 7 at Pier 3, 106 Macarthur Dr., New Bedford. Help raise money for at-risk youth while participating in New Bedford tradition. Taste test local and craft beers, hard seltzers, and sangria while listing to live music and playing cornhole. Local vendors and food trucks will be on hand to dish out some mouthwatering bites. Day of tickets are $20; both include entry and entertainment only, food and drinks are bought separately. Sundays are looking a whole lot better with the new specials happening at Cast Seaside Bites & Bar. Start your day off with their new brunch starting this weekend from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Follow it up with $2 buck shuck oysters and $4 tacos from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday fundays are on the menu at 7 Cottage St., Marion.

Friday dinner service is back at Scuttlebutt Padanaram just in time for fall. Each week they announce a menu for Friday with specials and some fun theme nights. Tonight’s menu is Burger Night with a grilled black bean burger for $14 and an 8oz burger for $17.50; there are special fall cocktails and yummy salads being served up. Next week you can indulge in BBQ takeout with pulled pork, wings, ribs, cornbread, and more. Make sure to take a break from the kitchen on Fridays and try out the menu at 10a Bridge St., Dartmouth.

Fall has arrived at Rustico and with it comes fall flavors in the food and the drinks. New drinks filling up the glasses are The Drunken Pumpkin which has Pinnacle Pumpkin Spice Vodka, pumpkin puree, Irish cream, and coffee liqueur, shaken with fall spices and finished with a cinnamon stick; and the Apple Butter Fizz with Jefferson’s Ocean Bourbon, a pinch of cinnamon and a teaspoon of local apple butter, shaken and strained over ice then topped with ginger beer and a fresh apple slice. For dinner you have to try the Seasonal Salmon, pan-seared, Chilean salmon. served with sweet potato bacon hash and grilled asparagus finished with mild chili oil for $2; or the Korean BBQ beef (Bulgogi), thinly sliced marinated filet mignon, coconut rice, mild kimchi, crispy onions, and sriracha aioli for $32. With football season here, the Sunday special is back at Ma Raffa's New Bedford. All month long Lorenzo's Italian Restaurant is hosting an Oktoberfest celebration with different German delicacies on the menu each week for $23.95. Oct 6-9: Zwiebelrostbraten or Wurst Platter. Oct. 13 – 15: Wiener Schnitzel or German Style Beef Roulade. Oct. 20- 22: Sauerbeaten or Jagerschnitzel; Oct. 27-29: Barvarian Style Roast Loin Pork or Wiener Salt Goulash. Enjoy any of these classics with an imported German Beer and a delicious dessert at 500 W Grove St., Middleboro.
