Food Workers Strike for Better Pay at San Francisco Airport

Food workers at San Francisco International Airport went on strike for better pay on Monday, September 26, a press release by a workers’ union said.

The strike included 1,000 food workers at restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and lounges at the airport. Workers were calling on travelers to boycott the airport’s food and beverage outlets by bringing their own food.

“Nobody can pay their bills or feed their kids on $17 an hour,” said Anand Singh, president of local UNITE workers’ union. Credit: @UniteHereLocal2 via Storyful
