Football Fans Help Ashanti Sing National Anthem in Kansas City Following Mic Issues

Thousands of football fans in Kansas City pitched in to help R&B singer Ashanti belt out the national anthem after technical issues rendered her inaudible ahead of the Cincinnati Bengals versus Kansas City Chiefs AFC Championship on January 30.

The entertainer was scheduled to sing the Star-Spangled Banner, but technical issues caused her microphone to drop in and out during the performance, according to reports.

This footage, filmed and posted by Twitter user @KChiver, shows thousands of fans singing the national anthem in Arrowhead Stadium.

The stadium’s capacity is over 76,000 and holds the Guinness World Record as the loudest outdoor sports stadium. In 2014, crowds roared at 142.2 decibels.
