Forbes names Procter & Gamble, Cincinnati Children's among Ohio's best employers

Several Greater Cincinnati businesses have some of the best workplace environments in Ohio.

Downtown Cincinnati-based Procter & Gamble recently ranked No. 4 on Forbes' Best Employers by State list. It received the highest ranking of any Cincinnati company.

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in Corryville also topped Ohio's list at No. 5. Miami University in Oxford ranked No. 12, and Western & Southern Financial Group came in at No. 31. Great American Insurance (No. 44) and the University of Cincinnati (No. 45) were also included among Ohio's top 50 best employers.

Dayton Children’s Hospital earned Ohio's No. 1 employer spot, followed by NASA at No. 2 and Cleveland State University at No. 3.

To determine its rankings, Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to survey 70,000 workers at companies in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Participants were asked to evaluate their employer based on various factors, including working conditions, diversity, compensation packages, potential for development, company image and more. Participants were also asked if they would recommend their employer to others.

A total of 1,392 employers across the country are featured on the list.

In Kentucky, St. Elizabeth Healthcare ranked No. 34 in the state, Fifth Third Bank ranked No. 45 and Boone County Schools came in at No. 48.
