The large luxury SUV segment is getting a new entrant: the 2020 Ford Expedition King Ranch.
The King Ranch edition has turned into a big hit for Ford with the automaker's F-series pickup, the most popular vehicle in the country.
So the automaker is now lending the luxury package to the Expedition for the first time since the 2017 model year.
The 2020 Expedition King Ranch will start at $72,895, reflecting a hefty premium on top of the 2019 Expedition base model price range of $48,530 to $79,200.
Sales of the base Expedition rose 56% in the first eight months of 2019, reflecting America's deepening love affair with hulking SUVs.
“The King Ranch name carries with it a legacy of hard work that defines the American ranching lifestyle, with the heritage and family traditions Ford Expedition represents,” said Andrew Kernahan, Expedition chief engineer, in a statement. “It’s a great addition to the lineup, growing Expedition’s appeal and personality in Texas as well as with customers across the U.S. looking for western-inspired style and timeless design.”
Features of the Expedition King Ranch include:
- "Stone Gray" paint on the grille mesh and lower bumpers.
- "Power-deployable running boards."
- Twenty-two-inch "six-spoke painted machine-finished aluminum wheels with dark tarnish-painted pockets."
- King Ranch badging.
- Del Rio leather on the interior, door trim and steering wheel along with King Ranch etching.
