Ford has really aggressively gone after an electrified future, we have gotten some initial indications on the demand for the Ford Lightning, their electric version of the F-150.

BRIAN SOZZI: The Lightning promises 10,000 pounds of towing capacity, over-the-air software updates, extended-range version boasts a 300-mile range on a charge, 563 horsepower, and a mid-four second 0 to 60 time.

JIM FARLEY: Ford launching this vehicle at this time is so important for our industry. You know, we've been in this business for a century. And so we have the toughest testing of any brand. You've got to think of these vehicles not as electric, think of them as digital. This vehicle can power your house for three days. You know, it's a different technology that it's just a better product. I think it's time for us to be competitive.
