Ford to use Mustang name for new electric SUV
Ford is releasing a vehicle bearing the Mustang name.
But it won't be a two-door muscle car.
It'll be an electric SUV that Ford said on Thursday will be called the Mustang Mach-E.
Ford said it will be releasing more than a dozen all-electric vehicles by 2022 as it moves away from traditional gas-powered cars.
And to power that initiative Ford is investing more than $11 billion.
The Mustang Mach-E will make its debut at an event on Los Angeles on Sunday, which is also when customers can start ordering the vehicle.
