FORECAST: Expect showers, windy conditions Saturday

FORECAST:

  • There is a slight chance of showers Friday night as the wind begins to pick up ahead of a cold front that will bring some more rain and possibly thunderstorms tomorrow.

  • Much of the rain will move out of our area by 2 p.m. Saturday.

  • Winds are expected to be between 15 mph and 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph in Charlotte on Saturday.

  • There is also a High Wind Warning Saturday into Sunday for the mountains, including Avery, Caldwell, and Burke counties.

  • Winds will be between 25 mph and 35 mph with gusts up to 65 mph.

  • The high temperature for Charlotte on Saturday will be near 65 and on Sunday, 55.

  • Sunday will clearly be the more tranquil day this weekend.

  • Mostly clear conditions kick off the work week.
