FORECAST:

• The chance of showers is in the forecast over the next few days.

• Highs Wednesday will be near 50 degrees and on Thursday, in the mid-40s.

• Periods of heavy rainfall could affect the western Carolinas Thursday through Thursday night.

• Friday’s high temperature will be close to 50.

• Lows will be in the 40s.

• Mostly clear skies return Friday with highs near 50.

• Saturday will be sunny with a high near 41 degrees.

• Clear skies with a low of around 40 are expected Saturday night.

• Some clouds are in the forecast for Sunday with a high near 49.
