FORECAST: Extreme heat expected to bring scattered storms

  • Wednesday was the hottest day of the week, with temperatures in the mid-90s and a heat index at or above 100 degrees.

  • Temperatures will hit the low 90s with a heat index around 97.

  • We’ll finally cool it off a little more tomorrow and into the weekend.

TRACKING THE TROPICS

  • Hurricane Lee has formed and continues to strengthen. Its track is still uncertain, with the system still in its early stages.

  • As of right now, the storm does not appear to affect any land, but it could get quite close to the east coast late next week.
