FORECAST:
A winter storm warning is in effect for Avery County until 7 a.m. Saturday.
Saturday’s high will be in the mid-40s as clouds part.
Expect windy conditions.
Temps will break the 50-degree mark on Sunday under clear skies.
Showers return to the forecast Tuesday.
The amount of snow in the mtns is going to be highly elevation dependent. Lower elevations below 3500 ft will see just 1-3" (closer to 1" farther east.) Areas above 3500 ft could see easily 6" or more, which is great news for the ski resorts. Be careful today on the roads. pic.twitter.com/oKa6ZEI9Qv

The rain from last night is long gone now and the sky has cleared. We'll still see some clouds from time to time today, but overall pleasant. Temps won't move much with breezy northwest winds, topping out in the lower 50s this afternoon. Mountain snow will last all day long. pic.twitter.com/U7rHpwDlAd
