FORECAST: Calm conditions until later this week when remnants of Hurricane Ian arrive

  • Weather conditions will remain calm for several days.

  • Highs will be in the 70s.

  • Hurricane Ian strengthened into a Category 1 hurricane Monday morning. It will likely rapidly intensify to a major hurricane as early as Monday night.

  • Ian is still on track to make landfall in Florida later this week. The exact track of the storm will determine our impacts -- A more westerly track means higher impacts (more rain and wind). An easterly track means lower impacts. Models are still up in the air on the exact track, but it definitely looks likely that we will receive rain out of Ian by Friday, which could linger into the weekend.
