NH Humanities’ Knit Democracy Together

DOVER — On Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 5:30 p.m. at the Dover Public Library, Knit Democracy Together will demystify the electoral process in New Hampshire and your rights as a voter as it engages citizen crafters in building a collaborative sculpture of the New Hampshire State House using knitted and crocheted pieces stitched in six knitting circles around the state. In June the completed sculpture will be unveiled and publicly displayed at the NH State Library. No prior knitting or crocheting experience necessary.

Evening of art and chocolate

KITTERY, Maine — It’s a feast for the senses at “An Evening of Art & Chocolate” to be held Saturday, Feb. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Star Theatre/Kittery Community Center at 120 Rogers Road in Kittery, Maine. The event, which benefits Friends of the Earth, Sea & Space Center, will feature a silent auction with a wide range of art up for bid as well as delectable creations from local bakers, chocolatiers and dessert makers, and a hot chocolate bar. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door at earthseaspacemuseum.org.

Puzzle swap

DOVER — On Saturday, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. at the Dover Public Library, donate your gently used puzzles and then come back to trade out for some new-to-you ones. Puzzles can be dropped off starting on Friday, Feb. 16 up until 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17. For every puzzle donated, you will receive one ticket to trade for another puzzle (up to five puzzles). Those with tickets are invited to come pick out puzzles between 2 and 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17.

Snow flower crafting

DOVER — On Saturday, Feb. 17 at 11 a.m. at the Dover Public Library, children ages 6 and up are invited to join us in the activity/storytime room to craft winter flowers. We will use both craft paper and an assortment of found objects to make 3-dimensional snow flowers.
