Forest Whitaker’s ex-wife, model Keisha Nash Whitaker, died of alcoholic liver disease

The cause of death has been revealed for model Keisha Nash Whitaker, ex-wife of Oscar winner Forest Whitaker, who passed away last month at age 51.

The former “What Are You Wearing” host died at Northridge Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles County, after years of suffering from alcoholic liver disease, according to her death certificate, obtained by TMZ.

Acute renal failure — a symptom of anorexia, which she reportedly battled for years — was also listed as a significant contributing factor in her death.

Nash and Whitaker, 62, met while playing onscreen lovers in 1994’s “Blown Away” and married two years later in Jamaica. They shared daughters Sonnet, 27, and True, 25, and each have a child from a previous relationship.

Whitaker filed for divorce from Nash in late 2018 after more than two decades of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences.” At the time, he requested termination of any spousal support.

While Whitaker has not publicly commented on the death of Nash, True shared the news last month on her Instagram Story in a touching tribute.

“Goodbye mommy. I love you 4ever and beyond. The most beautiful woman in the world,” said wrote. “Thank you for teaching me every single thing I know. I’ll see you in my dreams and I’ll feel you in my heart.”
