Former Alabama football receiver Traeshon Holden arrested, reportedly dismissed from Oregon
Former Alabama football receiver Traeshon Holden was arrested Wednesday in Oregon and charged with menacing, coercion and unlawful use of a weapon. Holden transferred to Oregon this offseason after three seasons with the Crimson Tide.
According to Lane County booking information, Holden, 21, was in custody Wednesday. He was arrested by the Eugene (Oregon) Police Department.
Oregon coach Dan Lanning released a statement through a department spokesperson to ScoopDuck, saying Holden has been dismissed from the team.
“We are aware of the incident involving Traeshon Holden, and he has been dismissed from our team,” the statement read. “We have high standards for the student-athletes, coaches, and staff in our football program, and we are disappointed when these standards are not met. We will continue to hold everyone in our program accountable for meeting our expectations.”
Holden started the first five games of the 2022 season for Alabama. He saw limited snaps from there, per Pro Football Focus: Texas A&M (41 offensive snaps), Tennessee (12), Mississippi State (15), LSU (0), Ole Miss (0), Austin Peay (30) and Auburn (11). He finished the year with 25 receptions for 331 yards and six touchdowns before entering the transfer portal in late November.
