TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WHNT) — Former Alabama five-star quarterback Julian Sayin has committed to play for the Ohio State Buckeyes, according to On3Sports.

Sayin, who signed with the Tide in December and entered the transfer portal this week, becomes the second former five-star recruit that Ryan Day and the Buckeyes have pulled out of the portal this week after former Tide standout Caleb Downs transferred to the program.

The California native was the Tide’s highest-rated recruit for the 2024 class and the No. 3-rated quarterback in the country. His Alabama career lasted less than a month.

Alabama players still have 19 days to enter the transfer portal as a part of a rule that gives players whose coach leaves 30 days to enter the portal even though it closed for the rest of the NCAA on Jan. 2.

The Tide have lost over 30 players to the portal since the end of the 2023 season.
