Former backup QB Braxton Barker hired as grad assistant for Alabama football

Former Alabama football backup quarterback Braxton Barker has been added to the staff as a graduate assistant for the Crimson Tide for next season, he posted on his Instagram account.

Barker entered the transfer portal in January but has taken his name out to become part of the football staff.

Barker is the son of former Alabama national championship-winning quarterback Jay Barker and has been a part of the football program since 2018.

Barker walked onto the Alabama football team after being the starting quarterback at Spain Park High School in Hoover.

During his three years at Alabama, Barker was able to win three SEC championships and one national championship. He completed a pass for 10 yards against New Mexico State in 2021.
