Former Blue Peter presenter Anthea Turner announces engagement
Former Blue Peter and GMTV presenter Anthea Turner has announced that she is engaged.
The star called in to Scala Radio to talk about the moment that partner Mark Armstrong – who she's believed to have met in March of this year – popped the question.
Speaking to the station's hosts (who she invited to the wedding, naturally), the Perfect Housewife star said: "He's keeping me very happy. He proposed in Rome and it's such a romantic city."

Writing on Facebook, Anthea said: "Happy Birthday today Mark Armstrong. It's a total joy to be with you, especially as I was able to call Scala Radio 'Sunday Brunch' (where I should be 😉) live from The Vatican and share with listeners and my, brother from another mother, Chris Rogers the news we're getting married. When you know, you know.....
"Mr A you've taken my breath away, love you so much bursting with happiness. You're a total unique bag of thoughts, passion, emotion and love."
Anthea previously married her manager Peter Powell in 1990, until they divorced in 1998. Her second marriage, to Grant Bovey, was highly-documented in public. After years of off-and-on again and reports of Bovey having an affair, they divorced in October 2015.
In the same year, she appeared on Celebrity First Dates. Two year after that she released a book titled How to Survive Divorce.
Around the same time she appeared on Channel 5's In Therapy, where she talked about her relationship with Bovey, stating: "I found out what was really going on and I was an emotional mess, a wreck.
"I thought we had done absolutely everything to look at this, to put it right. What I didn't realise was that Grant was doing slight of hand. I think it was worse the second time."
