Former Bohemian Cattle Co. land at Lake Norman is up for sale following closure

A 64-acre wooded tract that featured a popular Lake Norman farm-to-table restaurant has hit the market for $3.5 million, a listing by Cornelius-based Southern Homes of The Carolinas says.

Bohemian Cattle Co. said it was forced to close Sept. 30 after a flap with Catawba County health officials over its classification, The Charlotte Observer previously reported.

The Sherrills Ford establishment said it was a farm. But Catawba County said Bohemian failed to meet septic and other requirements to receive a full food service establishment permit.

Bohemian also offered concerts and other outdoor events on its Island Point Road farm and ranch owned by Cameron Cane with his wife, Sheila.

Cane couldn’t be immediately reached by the Observer on Tuesday for comment.

The listing has been up for seven days and describes the property as “an extraordinary gated estate on 64 beautiful acres with rolling terrain, creeks and beautiful lob lolly pine.”

The parcel includes “multiple ancillary buildings, open meadows and private forest,” according to the listing.

“Bohemian Cattle Co. is what you desire — whether a relaxing private compound or an income producing venture,” the listing says, noting how the property is 36 miles from Charlotte, 12 miles from downtown Mooresville and eight miles from unincorporated Denver in eastern Lincoln County.

The site could be transformed into an agricultural event space with its 14,000-square-foot open air barn that includes a catering kitchen, bathrooms, two rooms with HVAC wall units and a 24-tap system, according to the listing.

The property’s 6,000-square-foot metal warehouse and 1,500-square-foot out house also could be used as a private cabin/hunting lodge, Realtor Mike Toste says in the listing.
