Former Brookfield Central basketball standout Andrew Rohde commits to Virginia

Brookfield Central graduate Andrew Rohde, who recently entered the NCAA transfer portal after completing his freshman season at St. Thomas, has announced his commitment to Virginia to continue his college basketball career.

Rohde announced he had entered the transfer portal on March 20, after completing a freshman campaign in which he started all 26 games for the Tommies. He averaged 17.5 points, 3.7 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game. He was named the 2022-23 Summit League freshman of the year, an all-Summit League first-team honoree and a finalist for the Kyle Macy Freshman of the Year Award. He led the Tommies in scoring with 531 points, while becoming the first player in program history to score 500 points in a single season.

Rohde originally committed to NCAA Division I St. Thomas in high school over other reported DI scholarship offers from Appalachian State, Bowling Green, DePaul, Illinois-Chicago, UW-Milwaukee, Western Illinois and Western Michigan.

In his senior season with Brookfield Central, Rohde averaged 28.5 points, 8.1 rebounds and 6.1 assists for a Lancers team that reached the WIAA Division 1 state title game.
