Former Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill under investigation in Miami for assault

Former Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill is being investigated by Miami-Dade police over an alleged assault and battery involving an employee at a marina in Miami on Sunday.

The Miami Herald reported that Hill got into a disagreement with a worker and hit the man.

The Dolphins issued a statement on Tuesday: “We are aware of the situation and have been in contact with Tyreek, his representatives and the NFL. We will reserve further comment at this time.”

Hill, traded by the Chiefs to the Miami Dolphins in March of 2022, has been investigated for previous incidents, including during his his time with the Chiefs.

In 2019, Hill was suspended from team activities and investigated by child services after an incident left his 3-year-old son with a broken arm. The matter led to no criminal charges or discipline from the NFL.

In 2014, Hill pleaded guilty to a domestic assault charge after allegedly punching and choking his then-20-year old pregnant girlfriend while he was attending Oklahoma State. He was dismissed from the team and transferred to Division II West Alabama.

The Chiefs selected the speedy Hill in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, and he paid dividends immediately. Hill was named All-Pro in his rookie season as a return specialist. He’s earned that honor four times, is a seven-time Pro Bowler and set career bests with 119 receptions and 1,710 yards in his first season with the Dolphins.
