The Clippers have seen their share of All Stars take the field at Huntington Park, whether it was Cleveland Guardians starting pitcher Shane Bieber or former Guardians such as shortstop Francisco Lindor, starting pitcher Corey Kluber or left fielder Michael Brantley.

In 2022, two former Clippers are heading to Dodger Stadium on July 19 as All-Stars, one for the fourth time and one for the first time: Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez and second baseman Andres Gimenez.

Ramirez and Gimenez are two of three representatives for the Guardians in the 2022 MLB All-Star game, along with relief pitcher Emmanuel Clase.

Here's a look at how Ramirez and Gimenez have done this season, along with a look at what they did in their stints with the Clippers.

Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez

2022 (80 games) — .290 BA, .952 OPS, 17 HR, 66 RBI

Clippers: 2014-15 (104 games) — .298 BA, .785 OPS, 6 HR, 41 RBI

Ramirez has become a household favorite for the Guardians.

Since his debut at age 20 in 2013, the third baseman has been a perennial MVP candidate, finishing third twice in 2017 and 2018 and second in 2020, earning five All-Star honors, including 2022, and three Silver Slugger awards.

In 10 years with the Guardians, Ramirez is hitting .279 with an .863 OPS, 180 home runs, including a career-high 39 in 2018, and 606 RBI.

Ramirez is currently the only player on the Guardians roster to have more than 1,000 hits in his career and one of two, along with designated hitter Franmil Reyes, to have at least 100 home runs.

The Guardians All-Star third baseman didn't spend much time in Columbus, splitting time between the Triple-A and major league level in both the 2014 and 2015 seasons before taking over the starting spot for good starting in 2016.

Ramirez signed a seven-year, $141 million contract in April and is set to become an unrestricted free agent in the 2029 season at age 36.

Cleveland Guardians second baseman Andres Gimenez

2022 (72 games) — .299 BA, .833 OPS, 9 HR, 40 RBI

Clippers: 2021 (52 games) — 287 BA, .845 OPS, 10 HR, 31 RBI

Gimenez had big shoes to fill when he first arrived in Cleveland.

The Guardians second baseman was one of four players, along with shortstop Amed Rosario, starting pitcher Josh Wolf and outfielder Isaiah Greene, traded from the New York Mets in January 2021 for Lindor and starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco.

After struggling at the start of the season with the Guardians, Gimenez was demoted to Triple-A, hitting 10 home runs and driving in 31 runs, with a .287 batting average and a .845 OPS.

Gimenez has been a staple in the starting lineup for the Guardians in 2022, hitting .299 with nine home runs and 40 RBI.

Gimenez's first season in which he is arbitration eligible is in 2024, and he's slated to become a free agent in 2027.
