Former Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan has shared her ideal story for Rosie's return to the soap.

Flanagan, who is best known for playing Rosie Webster on the ITV soap since 2000, had planned to go back to the soap before getting pregnant with her third child. However, after suffering from a condition called hyperemesis gravidarum (causing severe vomiting), which the actress developed during all three of her pregnancies, she postponed her Corrie return.

Opening up about her plans to reprise the role during an interview on Loose Women, Flanagan said she would like Rosie to become a mother on the soap.

"I don't know why, but I'd love Rosie to be a mum," Flanagan explained. "I would love to come back at some point and play that."

Speaking about the potential storyline, Flanagan said it would be interesting to see her on-screen mum Sally Metcalfe, played by Sally Dynevor, take on the role of grandmother.

"I think that would be great, especially with Sally being a grandma, that kind of thing," she said. "I'd like to do that, that would be good."

During the same interview, Flanagan opened up about returning to the Jungle for the upcoming I'm a Celebrity: South Africa series, calling parts of the show "horrendous".

"The trials are very, very difficult. You feel dirty, you can't have a shower," she said before revealing that one of the trials was so bad that she'd prefer to give birth.

"I did one trial and I did think: 'I'd rather give birth right now!' I'm naturally a wimp, I'm scared of heights, spiders, snakes."

Flanagan first appeared on I'm a Celeb over a decade ago in 2012 where she finished in seventh place before returning for its all-stars series which is set to premiere on Monday, April 24 on ITV.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
