Jason King, a former cast member on Deadliest Catch, has reportedly been sentenced to 51 months in prison on federal charges for being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to Jackson Sun and several local Tennessee outlets.

According to court documents obtained by Local Memphis, Hardin County deputies, the 24th Judicial District Drug Task Force, the 15th Judicial District Drug Task Force, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Explosives issued a search warrant and felony arrest warrant at Jason’s home in 2017. They allegedly found 14 pounds of marijuana on the property as well as a loaded Smith & Wesson revolver.

Because of his “extensive prior criminal history,” he received the “maximum sentence within the guideline range for these offenses,” according to The United State Attorney’s Office Western District of Tennessee. On July 16, 2019, Jason was sentenced to 51 months in federal prison, as well as three years of supervised release.

"Convicted felons who possess firearms in connection with illegal drugs are inherently dangerous individuals,” U.S. Attorney D. Michael Dunavant said in a release. “Our outstanding federal, state, and local law enforcement partners were able to catch this outlaw, and his prior criminal record finally caught up with him. This conviction and sentence will remove a repeat offender from the community, and will protect public safety in West Tennessee.”

Jason appeared on the Discovery Channel show as Jason “Tennessee” King. He was a deckhand on the Cornelia Marie, which is currently headed up by Captains Josh Harris and Casey McManus. In 2015, Jason proposed and married his girlfriend of nearly three years, Tana, during an episode, as these videos on Extra and Dailymotion show. According to IMDB, he has not been present on the docu-series since that same year.
