Former Decatur doctor acquitted on harassment charge

A Morgan County jury found Michael Dick, a former long-time Decatur physician, not guilty on Wednesday, according to court documents.

Dick was originally found guilty of harassment in Decatur Municipal Court but appealed that verdict to Morgan County Circuit Court. Court records show his trial began Tuesday and he was acquitted on Wednesday.

This comes after Dick was also found not guilty in another case where he was charged with first-degree sex abuse. That case went to trial in 2022 and the former rheumatologist was found not guilty after jury deliberation.

As of Friday, Dick’s medical license remained suspended according to the Alabama Medical Examiners office.
