A former ESPN reporter said President Joe Biden's remarks on vaccine mandates are evocative of a dictator's.

Allison Williams, who left ESPN over its vaccine mandate, said Biden's comment about "patience running thin" over vaccine mandates was unsettling.

"I have never been so jarred by anything a president said," Williams said Thursday on The Megyn Kelly Show. "To hear the leader of the free world stand up and say, 'This isn't about your freedom,' I thought, 'Oh my God, it is always about our freedom.'"

The Biden administration declared in September that all private employers who have more than 100 employees must require the COVID-19 vaccine and testing.

Such an order contradicts the principle of freedom on which the United States exists, Williams said.

"If we don't have freedom over our own bodies, if our bodily autonomy is not respected ... we aren't free," Williams said. "That was scary to me — that was something a dictator says. That is not something a leader of free people says."

A person's ability to determine what they do with their body is a "God-given, constitutionally protected right," Williams said.

Williams left her sideline reporter job covering college football because she would not get vaccinated as she planned to have a second child, she said.

Williams reportedly signed on to a new position with the Daily Wire on Friday.

Receiving the vaccine is safe and effective for any person who is pregnant or breastfeeding, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Freedom and consent are the two essential components of liberty upon which vaccine mandates are infringing, Williams added.

"Everybody acts like, 'This was your choice, you chose not to get it, so get a different job,'" she said. "That's not choice — that's coercion, OK? Consent is fundamental to everything we do if we want to be a free people."
