Former Giants WR Travis Rudolph was arrested in Palm Beach County, Fla. early Wednesday morning on first degree murder charges.

Per the county’s press release, Rudolph was charged on four counts of first degree murder with a firearm and attempted first degree murder with a firearm after deputies responded to a double shooting. One victim was transported to a hospital while the other was deceased in West Palm Beach.

Rudolph was an undrafted free agent pickup by the Giants following the 2017 NFL Draft. He made headlines before the draft after making a nice gesture by sitting with a boy who has autism at lunch while visiting a middle school with his Florida State Seminoles teammates in 2016. The gesture made Leah Paske, the mother of the boy, cry because her son usually sat alone.

“To see this happen is just a blessing for him and me,” Rudolph said at the time.

Rudolph played just one season with New York, hauling in eight receptions for 101 yards in seven games.
