Former Grambling State football running back Cedric Skinner, 30, dies

Former Grambling State running back Cedric Skinner, who played for former Tigers coach Doug Williams, has passed away.

The death of the 30-year-old Skinner was confirmed by the Calcasieu Coroner’s Office, although no cause of death has been given.

Skinner led Oberlin High to the 2010 semifinals and a 13-1 record before moving to Grambling where he played three seasons. He completed his final season at Arkansas-Monticello.

“He was a running back that ran hard and made you remember him,” Williams said in a release. “We are praying for his family during this difficult time.”
