Former Harrisburg quarterback Jacob Knuth enters transfer portal after one year at Minnesota

Former Harrisburg High School standout quarterback Jacob Knuth announced on social media Tuesday night that he's decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal after one redshirt season at the University of Minnesota.

"After many prayers and difficult conversations, I have decided to enter the transfer portal with 4 years of eligiblity remaining," Knuth's posted on Twitter. "Thank you to Coach Fleck, the entire coaching staff, and my teammates for my time at Minnesota. I'm forever grateful."

The 6-foot-4 Knuth made a verbal commitment to the Gophers in February of 2021, about nine months before leading Harrisburg to a 12-0 season and its first South Dakota state Class 11AAA football championship. At the time, he also had received Division I offers from Iowa, Kansas State, Army, Air Force, South Dakota and South Dakota State.
