Former Home and Away star Luke Jacobz and his wife Raychel have announced that they have become parents to their first child.

Actor Jacobz, who played Angelo Rosetta on Home and Away from 2008 to 2011 and again in 2020, shared the exciting news on Instagram that the couple welcomed a baby girl, who they have named Maisie, on November 14.

"Words cannot describe how happy we are to bring our bundle of joy into the world," he wrote in a post. "Maisie - you are so loved and we could not ask for anything more perfect than you.

"Mamma is doing so well. We had a very 'eventful' delivery day but it was all worth it."

He also shared an adorable photo of baby Maisie sleeping while wrapped in a stripy blanket, as well as a snap of his sleeping wife cradling their daughter, and another of himself and Maisie sticking out their tongues while he holds her.

Several of the actor's co-stars congratulated the new parents, with Ziggy Astoni star Sophie Dillman writing, "I have never cried so much from a picture. Congratulations you beautiful souls! She is perfect", and Irene Roberts actress Lynne McGranger commenting, "Congratulations guys! How exciting. Welcome Maisie".

Mackenzie Booth star Emily Weir and Christian Green actor Ditch Davey also shared their best wishes with the new parents.

2023 has been a busy year for the couple, who got married in June in a postponed ceremony, three years after they had originally planned to tie the knot.

Jacobz then confirmed in July that he and his new wife were expecting a baby, with the actor announcing on Instagram that a new family member was on the way.

"2023 has been quite the year! Wedding in June and a baby in November," he wrote, alongside a photo of a baby vest. "We already have so much love in our home and can't wait to welcome our bundle of joy. I'm so in awe of my incredible wife! She's doing such a great job!"

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.

In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and streams on 7plus.
