Former Nashville hospital tech accused of rape arrested in Illinois

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A former Nashville hospital tech wanted for rape for over a year has been arrested in Illinois.

The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) said 43-year-old Terrance Boyd, an MNPD Most Wanted suspect, was arrested on an outstanding rape warrant on Friday, Jan. 19 at a home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Authorities in Illinois took Boyd into custody after the MNPD received information about his possible whereabouts.

Boyd was a tech at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in July of 2022 when he reportedly assaulted a 13-year-old female patient, according to investigators. Officials added Boyd was a sitter in the victim’s room.

Police said Boyd agreed to a DNA swab which was tested at a crime lab and came back as a match.

Boyd will be returned to Nashville in the near future and will be booked on a charge of statutory rape by an authority figure.
