A former Nebraska Cornhusker, now Kansas State Wildcat, helped lead his team to one of the big upsets of the 2022 college football season on Saturday night. Quarterback Adrian Martinez led K-State to an upset win over the No. 6 ranked Oklahoma Sooners 41-34 in Norman. Martinez had 21 completions on 34 attempts for 234 yards and one touchdown. He also ran for 21 times with 148 times and four touchdowns. When asked after the game, the former Cornhusker described the win as the most significant victory of his career.

“Without a doubt, this is No. 1,” Martinez said. “It’s still registering with me right now, just coming to that realization that it’s real, we played to the best of our abilities tonight, and we took it to them. It’s without a doubt my favorite game of all time.”

Below is a collection of social media reactions to the upset victory in Norman. Martinez will always have a connection to Husker Football but this moment is his alone. I’m happy to see someone who’s been through a lot be able to enjoy his time in the spotlight.
