How former Iowa State Cyclones measured up at the NFL Draft Combine

It's that time of the year again when Indianapolis becomes the center of the football universe with the NFL Draft Combine in town.

Iowa State had a quartet of players participate in the annual event. Will McDonald, Xavier Hutchinson, MJ Anderson and Anthony Johnson were all there for the measurements and drills that so often come to define prospects and influence where they'll ultimately land.

McDonald was the highlight of the week for Iowa State, which was expected but the potential first-rounder got national attention for unexpected reasons. The Cyclones' career sack record-holder participated Thursday despite battling a 104-degree temperature. He only did a couple of drills, but impressed nonetheless.

ESPN's Mel Kiper, Jr. had McDonald as a top-10 pick in his pre-draft mock, which would put the end to a 51-year drought of Cyclones going in the first round since running back George Amundson was selected 14th by the Houston Oilers in 1972.
