Former Jackson State wide receivers coach RJ Fleming hired by Auburn as analyst

Jackson State football wide receiver coach RJ Fleming was introduced as part of first-year coach T.C. Taylor's inaugural staff on Feb. 1. Fleming resigned on March 22 as the Tigers started spring practice. It turns out Fleming left to take an analyst coaching job at Auburn, reuniting with coach Hugh Freeze, according to his Twitter account.

Jackson State nor Auburn school officials could be reached for comment Wednesday.

Fleming worked as an offensive quality control and wide receivers coach for Freeze from 2019-20. He helped guide the Flames to their best season in school history finishing with a 10-1 record in 2020. The offense finished ranked 15th in FBS in total offense with 482.7 yards per game.

As Fleming left JSU, he posted on Twitter: "Although our time together was brief, I am thankful to have served at the pride and joy of the state of Mississippi. Coach Taylor, all administration, staff, fans, supporters and especially thee young men of JSU - Thank you. Start in Atlanta, finish in Atlanta."

Fleming was the running backs coach for Texas State in 2022. Before that, wide receiver and offensive analyst coach for Eastern Michigan in 2021.
