Former MLB Star Jeff “Frenchy” Francoeur Lists Georgia House for $3.8 Million

Jeff “Frenchy” Francoeur is looking for a buyer to snap up his custom-built Suwanee, Georgia, home. The former MLB star, who previously played for the Atlanta Braves, the New York Mets, the Texas Rangers, and the San Francisco Giants, among other teams, recently listed his sprawling 10,200-square-foot home for $3.8 million.

He and his wife, Catie, custom-built the six-bedroom, seven-full and three-half bathroom dwelling back in 2012, with the intention of making it their home base despite Francoeur’s busy travel schedule. “We’ll always keep Atlanta as our forever home,” Catie told Atlanta magazine back in 2014. “And because we’re not there a lot, we want our home to be comfortable as soon as we open the door.” The couple worked with architect Michael Swilley and interior designer Michelle Doughtie to bring their vision to life. Set on 1.3 acres, the space has high ceilings, handcrafted exposed beam ceilings, barn doors, and black hardwood floors throughout. Other common living spaces include a double-height front foyer with marble tile and a formal living room that boasts a crystal chandelier, and, currently, a grand piano in one corner, a nod to Catie’s many years of lessons.

The master suite, located on the second floor of the home, features a sunny sitting nook, as well as a master bathroom with a deep-soaking tub nestled under a large picture window, a separate glass-fronted steam shower, and two vanities. Four of the other bedrooms, all en-suite, are also located on the second floor, and there’s a large guest suite on the main floor. Other rooms of note include a trophy room, an arts and crafts room, a media room, a wine cellar, a bar, and a spa bath with steam shower. The highlight of the home, however, is undoubtedly the outdoor space: given Atlanta’s relatively mild weather year-round, the Francoeurs opted to maximize outdoor entertaining and dining areas, installing phantom screens on the main level porch for bug-free entertaining, as well as a 1,500-gallon hot tub with a waterfall and bed swings on the lower level patio. There are outdoor bars, a gas grill, and built-in fire pit on the main level as well.
