Former Moore Public Schools cheer coach accused of having sex with student '300 plus' times

An Okmulgee woman was sentenced to life in prison for killing two of her children.

A former Moore Public Schools cheer coach is alleged to have had sex with a male student more than 300 times.

In Cleveland County District Court, Jennifer Jean Hawkins, 45, is charged with one count of second-degree rape and one count of sexual battery after investigators accused her of being in a sexual relationship with a former student since he was a sophomore in 2016.

An investigator with the Oklahoma City Police Department’s sex crimes unit wrote in a probable cause affidavit that the former student reported having sex repeatedly with Hawkins at her home in south Oklahoma City.

The former student reported in the affidavit he was 16 years old when he started going to Hawkins’ home several times a week to have sex.

He described Hawkins “as being very manipulative and controlling,” according to the affidavit.

When he disclosed the allegations in a letter to Moore Public Schools, several staff members, including the director of safety and security, met with Hawkins, according to the affidavit.

During her interview with school officials, Hawkins said her accuser had lived with her and her family for the last couple of years until ties were severed in October, the affidavit says.

School officials read the former student’s letter to Hawkins, in which he wrote that as a sophomore and junior he had sex with Hawkins at her home almost every day, according to the affidavit.

Investigators say Hawkins initially denied the accusations before she “began crying and admitted to having been in a sexual relationship” with the former student.

When asked how many times she had sex with the former student, Hawkins repeatedly stated “no clue,” according to the affidavit.

Investigators say the former student claims Hawkins picked him up during lunch throughout his sophomore year and drove him to her home to have sex before he went back to school.

He estimated he “had sex with Jennifer three hundred plus times” and stayed in a sexual relationship with her until last year, according to the affidavit.

The former student told investigators he initially dated Hawkins’ daughter.

According to the affidavit, he told investigators Hawkins initiated sex with him while he watched a soccer game in August 2017.

Moore Public Schools ex-cheer coach angry with former student, investigators say

Text messages show Hawkins getting angry at the former student for “observing other females on social media sites,” according to the affidavit.

Police said the former student texted her:

"I want you in my life I just don't want a romantic relationship.”

The Norman Transcript reported Hawkins coached in the Moore school district for about 20 years. She was contracted with the district and not a teacher or full-time employee, the newspaper reported.

Hawkins was fired in January after the former student brought forth his allegations.

The newspaper published a statement by Moore Public Schools that said, in part:

“The safety and security of Moore Public Schools’ students and employees is our foremost concern. MPS school officials will continue to assist law enforcement in their investigation of this matter."

Hawkins has been released on $15,000 bond from the Cleveland County jail, records show.

Her criminal defense attorney could not immediately be reached Monday.
