Meck County court date moved for former NFL Super Bowl Champion

A court date for NFL free agent and former Super Bowl Champion Bashaud Breeland was continued to next month.

Breeland is facing multiple drug and firearm charges.

On Aug. 9, Breeland was pulled over by CMPD officers in the parking lot of a gas station on North Graham Street.

The car Breeland was driving was reported stolen from Florida and worth $150,000.

Upon searching the car, officers found multiple guns in the car, more than five pounds of marijuana, and about $2,000 in cash and scales.

CMPD arrested and charged Breeland. He faces the following charges:

  • Possession of a stolen car

  • Altering serial numbers

  • Altering a title

  • Altering identification

  • Marijuana possession

  • Possession of a controlled substance

  • Maintaining a car for controlled substances

  • Possession of a stolen gun

Breeland won a Super Bowl with the Kansas Chiefs in 2019. He last played in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings in 2021. He was signed to the Arizona Cardinals practice squad in 2021 but hasn’t played since.

Breeland had a court appearance originally scheduled for Monday, but that was moved to Sept. 22.
