Former Ohio State OC, Texas football coach Tom Herman joins CBS Sports Network

Tom Herman is heading to television.

The former Ohio State offensive coordinator and Texas head coach is joining CBS Sports Network as an analyst, along with former Utah State and Super Bowl-winning running back Robert Turbin.

Herman was Ohio State's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in the first three seasons of coach Urban Meyer's tenure with the Buckeyes, helping lead the team to a national championship in 2014.

After winning the Broyles Award as the nation's top assistant coach in 2014, Herman, who had previous stops as an offensive coordinator at Texas State, Rice and Iowa State, became the head coach at Houston and led the Cougars to a 22-4 record across two seasons before becoming the head coach at Texas.

Herman spent four seasons with the Longhorns, finishing with a record of 32-18 along with four bowl wins.

In 2018, while the head coach at Texas, Ohio State confirmed that Herman accompanied former Ohio State wide receivers coach Zach Smith to a Florida strip club in 2014, which was discovered into the investigation into Meyer's handling of domestic abuse accusations against Smith.

Herman was fired from the Longhorns after a seven-win 2020 season, and joined the Chicago Bears coaching staff as an offensive analyst and special projects coach in 2021.
