Justin Fields' disdain for Michigan has not lessened since he traded his Ohio State football jersey for Chicago Bears threads.

In an interview with radio host Rich Eisen during Super Bowl week, Fields was asked about how he felt after the Buckeyes' second-straight loss to the Wolverines in 2022, starting a back-and-forth with the Michigan graduate.

"That's their second in nine, 10 years?" Fields asked with a smirk.

"If you want to compare that little two to seven, you got it. Y'all lost to TCU. Nobody expected that, right? Y'all did get a Big Ten championship."

Eisen's producers then put the Michigan logo on the TV next to Fields, which he scoffed at and called terrible.

Despite offensive lineman Michael Schofield and defensive lineman Taco Charlton giving him grief after the Buckeyes' latest loss to Michigan, Fields said he's always rooting for Ohio State, even when it took on Georgia in the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Peach Bowl.

And even at the NFL level, Fields said even when the Bears play the Detroit Lions, he still calls Michigan "The State Up North."

"In total honesty, I feel so weird saying the name of that state, because it's instilled in me," Fields said. "I'm telling you, when you're at Ohio State and it's that week to play them, you've got their jerseys on the ground, you're walking over their jerseys; you put their logo in the toilets, you're peeing on the logos. They don't play any games. They prepare for that game 365 days a year."

In his only matchup against Michigan — a 56-27 win Nov. 30, 2019 in Ann Arbor — Fields completed 14 of his 25 pass attempts for 302 yards and four touchdowns.

In three career games against the Lions, Fields has averaged nearly 250 yards of total offense, scoring four touchdowns with three interceptions.

Ohio State will look for its first win against Michigan since 2019 Nov. 25 in Ann Arbor.
