Former Pence advisor says she 'would be in jail' if she took classified documents home: 'I would be answering questions afterwards'

• Former Pence aide, Olivia Troye said she'd be jailed if she ever took those documents.

Former Homeland Security adviser Olivia Troye sais she would have been in jail if she had taken classified documents like those seized from Mar-a-Lago.

"I would be answering questions afterwards to be honest," Troye told CNN's Dana Bash on Sunday.

Troye, who was an aide to former Vice President Mike Pence said there's also a responsibility to "self-report" and turn in documents.

"That's how seriously we take this. So, if anything like this were to be the case, anyone would be walked out," Troye said. "I saw people getting walked out of the Pentagon for much less greater efforts than this."

Last month, the FBI had seized 11 sets of classified documents from former President Donald Trump's property, including some that were marked as "top secret" and may have concerned nuclear weapons. In a Friday court filing, the Department of Justice publicly released the most detailed inventory of the documents seized at the Trump's estate. 

FBI agents found over 10,000 government documents at the estate, including over 100 classified records.

"It is mind-blowing to think about the fact that these documents were down there," Troye told Bash.
